I have been in the field of Mental Health and Substance Use and Addiction since 1999 and I am an Addictions Specialist. I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient counseling, inpatient counseling, and residential services. I served as Director of counseling services at two hospital based programs. I also maintained an adjunct faculty position at a local college.
In January of 2007 I obtained my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Medaille College and received the department Academic Award at Graduation.
I obtained my LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) in 2008.
I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Health and Human services from Empire State College in 2003.
I obtained my CASAC (Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor) in 2003 also.
I obtained my Associates in Science Degree from ECC City campus in 1999 in Mental Health Assistant- Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling.
I am also a certified trainer in Motivational Interviewing and I received this training from Bill Miller (one of the founder’s of MI) in 2007.
